ABOUT THE PROJECT
The North Auburn Wastewater Pipeline, which is Phase I of the Highway 49 wastewater capacity improvement project, includes installation of a new wastewater pipeline (force main). The pipeline connects existing infrastructure to the Placer County Regional Pump Station on Joeger Road in unincorporated western Placer County.
Construction is in two phases. Phase I began in early 2025 and was completed in spring 2026. It included installation of a 24-inch force main between Quartz Drive and the Placer County Regional Pump Station on Joeger Road. Phase II includes construction of a 16-inch force main between Edgewood Road and Quartz Drive, and will be scheduled at a later time.

Environmental documentation related to this project include the Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration and Mitigation Monitoring & Reporting Program for the Highway 49 Wastewater Capacity Improvement project, of which North Auburn Wastewater Pipeline is part of. These documents outline mitigation measures that the contractor and project team must have in place at all times to ensure the health and safety of workers and the local community.
